Music History for February 8 - Right Said Fred

On this day in 1992, Right Said Fred had the #1 single in the country with "I'm Too Sexy." The British group, made up of brothers Fred and Richard Fairbass, took its name from a 1962 song from British actor/comedian Bernard Cribbins.

Right Said Fred released "I'm Too Sexy" on the 1991 album Up. The single remained at #1 for three weeks before "To Be With You" from Mr. Big took over the top spot. "I'm Too Sexy" topped the charts in 30 other countries as well.

The toungue-in-cheek song is written from the perspective of an over-confident fashion model who considers himself too sexy for everything from his shirt to his cat, not to mention New York, Milan and Japan. The song's video was equally facetious as the hunky brothers tore off their t-shirts as they sang.

"I'm Too Sexy" ranks at #49 on Blender magazine's "It's the 50 Worst Songs Ever! Watch, Listen and Cringe!"

Today's Question:

Right Said Fred had the #1 single in the country with a song making fun of the fashion industry, especially over-confident models. can you name the song?
