Riot Breaks Out at Colombian Metallica Show

A riot erupted at a Metallica show in the South American country of Colombia earlier this week after ticketless fans attempted to crash the concert.

According to Sky News, "around 160 people have been arrested and at least eight people injured during a riot outside" of Bogota's Simón Bolívar Park.

"Some 30,000 people had tickets to see the band in the Colombian capital, but hundreds of ticketless fans tried to break through barriers to see their heavy metal heroes," the report continued.

Security at the actual show was heavy, with reports of 1,500 police, four tanks and many more police trucks. Despite the security forces, police were forced to break up the hordes with water hoses and tear gas.

As a precaution, authorities beefed up security for Metallica's scheduled show in Venezuela tonight (March 12th).
